"South Downtown Hub" is the current name for the area surrounding Seattle's historic train stations, which has also been called Jackson Hub.

King Street Station (1906) and Union Station (1910) created the original railroad hub in Seattle, connected to the working waterfront. Today, these stations are surrounded by modern light rail, major bus stops for King Country Metro and Sound Transit buses, Sounder commuter rail, the Seattle streetcar and a quick walk to ferry access. Amtrak uses the King Street station.

The hub, which sits between the Pioneer Square and Chinatown International District neighborhoods, serves to divide more than connect. Our neighborhoods seeks substantial meaningful investment in this pedestrian environment for the benefit of our communities and Seattle's transit riders.
