A Living History

The history of disinvestment and harmful government actions in the CID dates back over a hundred years. Policies written to prioritize white settlers negatively impacted and many times displaced Natives, Asian Immigrants and African Americans. Despite harmful policies, the legacy of our neighborhood lives on.
